Job summary

Dedham Health & Athletic Complex is seeking an Assistant Facilities Manager to support daily operations across the club, including fitness areas, locker rooms, pools and common spaces. You will assist in leading maintenance and cleaning teams to keep the environment clean, safe and well-maintained for members.

The role requires hands-on experience with pool chemistry, familiarity with building systems, and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in facilities management; health club or fitness experience preferred.
• Hands-on pool chemistry and water testing experience.
• Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, boilers, pumps.
• CPO certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to work early mornings, evenings, weekends.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of all club facilities with the Facilities Manager.
• Maintain pool water quality and recordkeeping per health codes.
• Monitor and maintain building mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, boilers).
• Keep gym equipment clean, functional, safe.
• Coordinate maintenance schedules and upgrades.
• Supervise and train cleaning staff.
• Manage supplies inventory.
• Contribute to emergency preparedness and safety compliance.
• Liaise with contractors and vendors for repairs.
• Respond to facility issues reported by members or staff.
• Support preventive maintenance programs.
