Job summary

Gateway Community & Technical College in Kentucky is seeking a Health Career Pathways Coordinator to advance healthcare workforce development through career pathway programs, continuing education opportunities, and community engagement.

Working with North Central AHEC staff and regional partners, you will plan health career programming, coordinate mock interviews and shadowing experiences, and support recruitment into the AHEC Scholars program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 2-4 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to teach interactive classes for middle/high school and college-level students.
• Willingness to travel, including occasional overnight travel.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Available to work some weekends, as needed.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, ability to work independently and adapt to fast-paced, dynamic environments.
• Skilled in engaging and supporting students from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word)

Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives to increase the number of students entering the healthcare workforce.
• Plan and implement health career programming with community partners.
• Coordinate mock interviews, a Boot Camp and shadowing experiences for students.
• Provide information regarding student services, policies and employment preparation.
• Assist with events like the NKY Health Career Showcase and recruitment of students into AHEC Scholars.
• Assist with the Scholars didactic and experiential sections to meet core competencies.
• Participate in KY AHEC Statewide meetings and constituency group meetings.
• Collaborate with UK AHEC CICHE and regional AHEC offices to provide health career programming.
• Maintain statistics and records of programs including Salesforce data.
• Prepare grant funding reports for federal and state funding.
• Assist Gateway staff to advance recruitment, growth and development of health career programming.
• Participate in committees and meetings to encourage recruitment and enrollment.
• Schedule logistics and secure resources for health profession programs.
