Job summary

Southeast KY Community & Technical College in Hazard, KY seeks a Health Career Coordinator/Student Support Specialist II to recruit students for health careers programs and provide guidance across academic and wellness resources. The role supports middle to post-secondary students within the Southeast Kentucky region and is based on-site at the Hazard AHEC office.

The position is grant-funded through 2027 with potential extensions and offers a comprehensive benefits package and paid holidays.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience.
• Willingness to recruit students and provide guidance across health careers programs.

Responsibilities

• Recruits students to participate in health careers programming and provides guidance navigating resources such as academic support services, mentoring and career counseling.
• Plans and provides health careers programming for middle, high, and post-secondary students within the Southeast Kentucky service region.
• Develops partnerships with public and private schools to carry out identified programming.
• Evaluates programming for effectiveness and quality.
• Participates in scheduled meetings that may involve local, statewide, and national travel.
