This position works within the Transportation Department at Murdoch Developmental Center. This position functions as provider of medical care and transport to various hospitals and medical facilities for appointments and procedures. Additional responsibilities include transporting patients on campus to Medical Clinic, Dental Clinic, Laboratory, X-ray, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy.
When on off-campus medical trips, this position assists medical staff with patient behavior management and assists with compliance with examinations. Medical providers are not always experienced in caring for patients with IDD and this position assists in making the resident more comfortable and at ease while relating to the provider any special needs. When transporting residents for medical purposes, this position serves as liaison between the medical staff of Murdoch Developmental Center and the facility in which the resident is to receive care.
This position is responsible for assisting people that live at Murdoch Developmental Center into vehicles (ambulatory, non-ambulatory, wheelchairs) and transporting to scheduled destinations. Other routine duties include picking up medicine boxes, pharmacy requisitions, charts, lab specimens, and x-rays from campus buildings.

Physical Requirements- Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

**Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus**
Qualified applicants must be selected from the candidate pool of this posting and meet the State policy following requirements:
A newly hired permanent full time or permanent part-time employee who works 30 to 40 hours per week is eligible for a sign-on bonus (this will be prorated for employees working less than 40 hours per week).
