Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in an area related to health, child care, or office management.
• Current certification in CPR and First Aid.
• Competent computer skills, especially word processing and Excel/spreadsheets.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated interest in working with children, prior work in a health care or educational setting preferred.
• Ability to follow directions, ask for and accept direction, and complete physical tasks such as:
  • Lifting (up to 25 lbs. alone; over 25 lbs. with assistance)
  • Kneeling on floor to assist nurse with injured student
  • Administering CPR
  • Assisting a physically impaired student to stand from sitting, pivot in place, and sit from standing; and pushing a student (up to 200 lbs) in a wheelchair.

Salary Range

Based on qualifications and experience and according to the Westport Nurses’ and Health Aide Assistants’ Contract (see website www.westportps.org/employment -personnel contracts).
