New Haven Public Schools in New Haven, CT, seeks a School Health Assistant to support health services in the school setting. You will assist with mandated screenings, organize health data, and help families navigate health information and records.
The role requires strong communication, confidentiality, and the ability to work with children; CPR certification and a Connecticut driver’s license are preferred. The position reports to the Health and Wellness Department.
High school graduate or equivalent degree with a minimum of 3 years of full time employment in the health field and/or experience working with school aged children OR an Associate's degree or higher from a college or university

The primary function of the School Health Assistant role is to serve as an integral member of the school health services team. Assist with school based health initiatives, programs, and services to ensure students receive needed health services, required screenings. Facilitate data entry and collaborate with all school health staff.
REPORTS TO: Health and Wellness Department
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Established by the New Haven Board of Education
EVALUATION: Performance evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board of Education's policy of evaluation of personnel.
