Health and Safety Specialist in Dover, NJ Job 1803

This is a FULL-TIME position as an employee of our client, a major international manufacturer, and REQUIRES commuting to the Dover, NJ area. This position CANNOT be worked from a remote setting; HOWEVER, relocation assistance within the US is available.

What you will be doing:
As the Health and Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for the implementation, training and oversight of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) programs and staff activities along with related organizational performance standards to support the facility.

You will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for OHS related matters.

You will guide, coach, mentor and support all site employees on how to protect themselves, each other and company assets in the most productive and efficient manner.

Minimum Requirements:

• All potential candidates must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States, employer sponsorship is not available.
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited College / University in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Industrial Management or related discipline
• One (1) or more years of OHS experience, including internships

Additional Preferred (not required) Competencies:

• 3+ years of OHS management experience in manufacturing environments

Major Responsibilities:

• Partner with operations leadership and general workforce and serve as SME regarding interpretation of federal, state and local OHS regulations
• Lead/Participate in OHS audits and inspections developing remediation plans as needed
• Lead/Participate in Continuous Improvement initiative regarding OHS policies and programs
• Lead employee training programs regarding OHS behaviors and compliance
