Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Summer 2027 intern to collect and analyze healthcare claims and utilization data, assist with RFPs, and support consultants in determining optimal benefit designs. You will help prepare client deliverables, including reports and presentations, and contribute to benchmarks for employer-sponsored health plans.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a related bachelor's degree with strong analytical skills and proficiency in MS Office, with expected graduation in Fall 2027 or Spring

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, mathematics, statistics, economics, health administration, health policy, or a related major.
  • Expected graduation Fall 2027 or Spring 2028.
  • Strong Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative and qualitative skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze healthcare claims and utilization data, including cost projections and evaluations.
  • Support the RFP process for clients.
  • Assist senior consultants in reviewing client needs and implementation strategies.
  • Model employee benefit contributions to meet employer objectives.
  • Prepare client deliverables, including reports and presentations.
  • Assist with national health plans benchmarks and health policy efforts.

Job description

  • Collect and analyze healthcare claims and utilization data, including cost projections and evaluations
  • Support the Request for Proposal (RFP) process on behalf of clients
  • Assist senior consultants in reviewing client needs, identifying suitable approaches, and supporting implementation strategies
  • Model employee benefit contributions to help meet employer objectives
  • Prepare client deliverables and communications, including reports, spreadsheets, and presentations
  • Support the National Survey of Employer-Sponsored Health Plans to create employer health and benefits benchmarks
  • Work alongside Marsh's U.S. Health & Benefits consultants
Requirements
  • Progress toward a bachelor's degree in business, mathematics, statistics, economics, health administration, health policy, or a related major
  • Currently enrolled in a college or university with an expected graduation date of Fall 2027 or Spring 2028
  • Preferred minimum GPA: 3.0/4.0
  • Permanent, ongoing U.S. work authorization without the need for sponsorship now or in the future
  • Ability to work Monday, June 7th through Friday, August 13th in Summer 2027, with no alternate dates
  • Strong analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of data analysis, project management, and presentation design
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and willingness to develop new skills
  • Superior organizational skills and strong attention to detail
