Job summary

Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this full-time position will be to assist in the health care of clients in clinical services, including reproductive health, STI, PrEP, HIV testing, and Adult/Child Immunization services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: None.

Note: Applicants may substitute experience assisting in the health care of clients in a health setting on a year-for-year basis for up to four years of the required education.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

• Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current certificate as a Nursing Assistant from the Maryland State Board of Nursing, 4140 Patterson Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland 21215. Persons appointed to a position in this classification without certification as a Nursing Assistant must successfully complete a Board of Nursing approved nursing assistant training program and receive certification as a Nursing Assistant within sixty days from date of hire prior to performing delegated nursing tasks. Appointees who fail to successfully complete this requirement will not be retained in these positions.
• Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
• Employees in this classification may be required to successfully complete training and maintain current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
• Employees in this classification may be required to successfully complete training and maintain current certification in basic first aid.
