Job summary

The Header/Slotter/Thread Roller Setup Operator on 2nd shift at Ideal Tridon Smyrna, TN, will set up and operate header, slotter and thread roller machines to produce fasteners and precision metal components. You will configure tooling, load materials, adjust feeds, and verify dimensions and finishes to meet tight tolerances.

You must read blueprints, use calipers, monitor machines, and perform routine maintenance while following safety rules and quality standards to ensure reliable production

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years of related set-up experience or equivalent hands-on mechanical experience.
• Experience reading mechanical blueprints and using calipers.

Responsibilities

• Set up and configure header, slotter, and thread roller machines according to production specifications and instructions, including selecting tooling, adjusting machine settings, and installing fixtures.
• Loads raw materials into machine feed mechanisms and adjusts feeding and cutting mechanisms to ensure proper material flow and dimensions.
• Programs and adjust machine controls, including speed, feed rate, and tooling positions, to achieve desired product specifications, tolerances, and surface finishes.
• Monitors production processes and machine operations to maintain quality standards and prevent malfunctions.
• Conducts test runs and inspections to verify setups and product quality before full production; makes adjustments as needed.
• Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and implements corrective actions to resume production.
• Performs routine maintenance tasks to ensure proper functioning and prolong equipment life.
• Conducts quality inspections and tests on finished products to ensure compliance with specs.
• Records production data in logs or computerized systems.
• Follows SOPs and safety guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
