Job summary

Allegion seeks a Packer for Stanley Access Technologies in Farmington, CT. The role is 2nd shift (3:30 PM–12:00 AM) on-site, packing doors and components for shipment and ensuring alignment with checklists.

You will use forklift, manage inventory data, and support lean manufacturing efforts while maintaining a clean, safe workspace.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in material distribution, inventory, supply chain, or manufacturing.
• Forklift experience required; certification preferred.
• Experience with MRP/ERP systems and processing inventory transactions.
• Strong math skills and good verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• To inspect and layout finished doors, components and sub-assemblies to pack complete aluminum entrance packages.
• Remove door panels, test and inspect fit and function as per checklist; package doors, jambs, thresholds and hardware.
• Apply protective materials and identify containers; pack extrusions for shipment to finishing vendors.
• Open and store incoming shipments of extrusions.
• Maintain a clean, orderly work area and follow safety requirements.

Packer

What You Will Do:

• To inspect and layout finished doors, components and sub-assemblies in order to pack complete aluminum entrance packages.
• Remove door panels from storage rack, test and inspect for fit and function as required by check list. Remove and package doors and assemblies such as jambs, thresholds, inserts, hardware and screw packs and package in appropriate container according to prescribed methods
• Apply protective materials to insure safe shipment. Tape or wrap container as required and apply appropriate identification. Pack extrusions for shipment to finishing vendors
• Open and store incoming shipments of extrusions
• Perform necessary handling requirements of the job and maintain a clean orderly work area.

What You Will Need To Succeed:

• 2+ years of experience in material distribution, inventory, supply chain, or manufacturing.
• Forklift experience required, forklift certification preferred
• Demonstrated computer experience in Microsoft Office applications and Material Resource Planning / Enterprise Resource Planning type systems
• Excellent Customer Service Skills; display a professional ‘can do’ attitude
• Strong organizational skills with close attention to detail and prioritizing multiple tasks along with meeting deadlines
• Consistently demonstrate independent judgement and initiative; driven self-started dedicated to continuous process improvement
• Detail-oriented, accurate, dependable and willing to accept a wide variety of assignments
• Knowledge/Experience in Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools required
• Experience with MRP systems and processing inventory transactions
• Comfortable operating a forklift for moving inventory
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software quickly
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret inventory data and reports
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Strong math skills
• Follow all safety requirements and keep work area clean and orderly
