Job summary

Vermont State University is seeking a head women’s volleyball coach to lead all aspects of the program, including practice and game preparation and the supervision of staff. You will recruit and retain qualified student‑athletes while ensuring their academic success and welfare.

You will also manage team travel, engage in alumni relations, and participate in fundraising and other departmental duties within Athletics and Recreation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in sports administration, recreation, physical education, or related discipline.
• Master’s degree desirable.
• Two to four years of relevant coaching experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Practice and game preparation.
• Supervision of the assistant coaching staff.
• Recruitment and retention of qualified student‑athletes.
• Overseeing academic success and student‑athlete welfare.
• Managing team travel including transportation, lodging and meals.
• Actively engaging in alumni relations and fundraising activities.
• Performing other administrative duties within the Athletics and Recreation Department as assigned.
