Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in sports administration, recreation, physical education, or related field; master’s degree desirable.
• Two to four years of relevant coaching experience or a comparable education‑experience mix.
• Strong technical skills and interest in recreational activities.
• Broad knowledge of fitness center, pool, and athletic facilities management, coaching, and recruiting.
• Valid Vermont State Driver’s License.
• Availability for weekend and evening work.
• Ability to work effectively with a wide range of university students, personnel, media contacts, facilities users, and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of a DivisionIII intercollegiate program per Vermont State University, NCAA, and Little East Conference guidelines.
• Prepare for practices and games.
• Supervise assistant coaching staff.
• Recruit and retain qualified student‑athletes.
• Oversee academic success and welfare of student‑athletes.
• Assist in game management and athletic event coordination.
• Perform administrative duties within the Athletics and Recreation Department as assigned.
