Job summary

Oakwood School in Morgan Hill, CA seeks a Boys Varsity Baseball Head Coach to lead a brand-new program. This role focuses on player development, team strategy, and program building from the ground up.

The position requires evening/weekend work, travel, and collaboration with the Athletic Director to establish traditions, discipline, sportsmanship, and a competitive identity within the league.

Qualifications

• Passion for coaching student athletes.
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Background check required.
• CPR & First Aid Certification required or ability to be certified.
• Ability to motivate, teach, and recruit qualified student-athletes.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize.
• Experience working with diverse groups and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Lead the baseball program with discipline, sportsmanship and teamwork.
• Design and execute organized practices addressing player needs.
• Develop game plans and adjust strategies during games.
• Supervise player behavior and ensure safety during practices and travel.
• Coordinate with Athletic Director and staff to align systems and expectations.
• Maintain clear communication with players, parents, coaching staff and administration.
