Job summary

Great American Insurance Group's Bond Division seeks a Commercial Surety Head Underwriter in the Cincinnati, OH area, with regular in-office presence and travel. We will also consider candidates inOrange, CA and other approved locations willing to relocate to Cincinnati.

You will oversee Financial Products Underwriting operations, develop strategic plans for the Production Underwriting team, and drive growth through risk assessment and stakeholder collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field or equivalent experience.
• Generally, a minimum of 10-15 years of surety underwriting experience, including a minimum of 5 years of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Financial Products Underwriting operations and enhance workflow efficiency.
• Develop and implement strategic plans for the Production Underwriting team.
• Oversee assessment of underwritten risk quality and volume with reports.
