The successful candidate will manage budgeting, scheduling, and staff, promote academic success, and represent the program with integrity within the college community and alumni network.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of competitive tennis techniques, rules, strategies, and player development principles.
• Strong commitment to the academic success and holistic development of student‑athletes.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to recruit and retain student‑athletes in a highly selective academic environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of the men’s tennis program, including practice planning, on-court coaching, match strategy, scheduling, and player development.
• Recruit academically and athletically qualified student‑athletes who align with the mission, values, and standards of Wabash College.
• Monitor and support the academic progress, personal development, health, safety, and overall well‑being of student‑athletes.
• Provide instruction in the technical, tactical, physical, and mental aspects of tennis to maximize individual and team performance.
• Develop and implement a competitive schedule and prepare the team for successful intercollegiate competition.
• Supervise and evaluate assistant coaches and other program personnel, as applicable.
• Manage program operations, including budgeting, equipment, travel arrangements, scheduling, and related administrative responsibilities.
• Maintain accurate records and complete required institutional, conference, and NCAA documentation in a timely manner.
• Ensure full compliance with all institutional, conference, and NCAA Division III rules, regulations, and policies.
• Foster a culture of sportsmanship, discipline, teamwork, accountability, and respect.
• Represent the tennis program and the Athletics Department in a professional manner within the campus community, alumni network, and external constituencies.
• Support the mission of the College and contribute positively to the goals of the Athletics Department.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
