Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a Head Start Teacher Aide to support classrooms, staff and children daily at school sites. You will assist with meals, supervise children during mealtimes and ensure health, safety and nutrition guidelines are followed.

Required include fingerprint clearance, TB and immunizations; HS diploma or GED with ECE/CD units, and eligibility to work in the U.S. VOALA offers competitive benefits and opportunities within Head Start programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 12 ECE/CD units.
• Enrolled in or completed apprenticeship certification.

Responsibilities

• Serves meals to children during mealtimes, ensuring a friendly, professional service.
• Communicates with central kitchen and staff on menu changes and allergies.
• Maintain sanitation and prevent cross‑contamination in the kitchen.
• Restock kitchen and materials and assist classrooms during meals.
• Ensure health and safety guidelines are followed in all activities.
