Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a Head Start Teacher Aide to support classrooms at Head Start/Early Head Start sites in Los Angeles. You will assist teachers, serve meals, and help maintain health, safety, and nutrition practices.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED with 12 ECE/CD units (or enrolled in apprenticeship). Fingerprint clearance and health screenings are required; bilingual abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide meals to children and serve school customers in a professional, courteous manner.
• Prepare meals and replenish items during meal times.
• Communicate menu changes and allergies to central kitchen and staff.
• Monitor food allergies and prevent cross contamination.
• Maintain sanitation and restock kitchen and materials.
• Assist classrooms and teachers during meal times.
