Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a Head Start Teacher Aide to support daily classroom activities, serve meals to children, and assist staff in maintaining a healthy, safe learning environment.

Required qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED with 12 ECE/CD units, fingerprint and TB clearances, and vaccination. Aware of nutrition guidelines and able to assist with meals and classroom tasks.

Qualifications

• Fingerprint clearance required
• TB clearance within 6 months
• Annual influenza vaccination required (Nov 1 – Mar 31)
• Health screening at time of employment

Responsibilities

• Provide meals to children during mealtimes in a professional, courteous manner
• Assist classrooms and teachers with meal time and activities
• Communicate with central kitchen about menus and allergies
• Maintain sanitation and prevent cross-contamination
• Ensure health and safety guidelines are followed in the classroom
