Job summary

Pinal Gila Community Child Services is seeking a dedicated Teacher/PIC to work in a Head Start classroom for 3- to 5-year-olds. You will collaborate with an assistant teacher to plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities, engage families, and support children with diverse abilities.

The role emphasizes safety, nutrition, behavior support, and strong communication with staff and families, including bilingual English/Spanish capabilities to better serve the community.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in ECE or related field with preschool teaching experience
• Must be at least 18 years old
• PIC must be at least 21 years old per requirements
• Two years of preschool teaching and Head Start experience preferred
• Arizona Driver's license, CPR/First Aid, food handler if required, and vehicle for program business
• English proficiency; bilingual English/Spanish highly desirable
• Immunizations as required on file or exemption

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment and teach safe practices to prevent injuries
• Teach nutrition and health promotion practices
• Organize classroom routines to reduce behavior issues
• Create engaging environments that promote learning and development
• Promote language, literacy, math, science, and arts learning
• Support dual-language learners in English and home language
• Incorporate IEP/IFSP goals into classroom activities
• Maintain confidentiality for child/family/staff
• Recruit families for all PGCCS options
