Job summary

Bourbon County Preschool Head Start in Paris, Kentucky is seeking a Head Start - Preschool Lead Teacher to implement a preschool program for eligible participants. The role reports to the Head Start - Preschool Director and requires IECE certification or equivalent.

Responsibilities include using the approved curriculum, conducting home visits, planning daily lessons, coordinating center activities, documenting child progress, and ensuring safety and compliance with Head Start policies.

Qualifications

• IECE Degree or Other Certification approved by Department of Education.

Responsibilities

• Have a physical examination and TB skin test. Paid by Board of Education at local Health Department.
• Use the curriculum adopted by the program.
• Make two home visits per year to each assigned family enrolled.
• Make lesson plans to be used in daily planning.
• Develop activities for weekly lesson plans.
• Coordinate center day activities for children.
• Write objectives for each child including disabled children.
• Fill out enrollment forms and document family data.
• Refer families for needed services using referral forms.
• Send documentation to Central Office on time.
• Submit withdrawal forms to Central Office after withdrawal.
• Ensure classroom is safe and clean.
• Conduct drills (fire, tornado, bus evacuations) per policy.
• Meet goals of Head Start - Preschool Program.
• Manage parental activities and two parent conferences.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Head Start Director.
