Save the Children US is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support preschool instruction in a Head Start classroom. The role involves assisting the Teacher with daily activities, supervising children, and partnering with families to promote development and learning.

You will help implement developmentally appropriate activities, maintain a safe and engaging environment, and participate in ongoing professional development and program activities to ensure alignment with Head Start Program Performance

Qualificações

• CDA credential or state-awarded certificate meeting CDA requirements; must be completed within two years of hire.
• Professional proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Knowledge of Head Start/Early Head Start program purpose and goals.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; ability to follow directions and take initiative.
• Ability to collaborate with individuals and teams at all levels, including families and community partners.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of family information.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online client management systems.
• Participation in PD including basic first aid and pediatric CPR as required by state licensing and HSPPS.

Responsabilidades

• Engage with children during all activities; supervise indoors and outdoors to ensure safety.
• Assist in planning activities with Head Start Teacher to meet individual needs.
• Guide classroom activities including projects and field trips.
• Implement developmentally appropriate classroom management techniques.
• Provide a safe, developmentally appropriate learning environment; interact with children individually and in small groups.
• Build strong relationships with families and within the organization.
• Ensure child safety with active supervision; do not leave any child unattended.
• Collaborate with Head Start Teacher and staff to meet Head Start Program Performance Standards.
• Support parent involvement through conferences and home activities.
• Assist in healthful routines, meals, and self-help skills.
• Assist in record keeping, observations, assessments, and screenings.
• Participate in staff meetings, committees, and training sessions.
• Lead in the teacher's absence and perform related duties as assigned.
