Job summary

York County Community Action Corp. is hiring a Lead Teacher in Biddeford, ME, partnering with a Public School to create a warm, family-friendly classroom where children and families thrive.

A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered through four installments, with additional compensation from the Public School. The position includes paid time off, holidays, school-year schedule, meals in class, and comprehensive insurance plus retirement benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Experience working with children in a center-based setting; supervising others preferred.
• Willing to work flexible hours to meet families’ needs.
• Immunized against MMR and TDaP.
• Background check including DHHS and fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

• Partnering with families to develop child focused goals that meet individual needs.
• Planning, implementing and documenting a comprehensive child development program suitable for preschoolers.
• Building positive and supportive relationships with children and families.
• Coordinating the daily operations of the classroom while supervising the activities of 1 or more staff members.
