Job summary

Child Start Inc. is seeking a Nutrition Services Manager to direct and coordinate nutrition and CACFP programs for Head Start. You will supervise staff, develop nutrition services for children and families, and provide technical direction on program design and delivery.

The role requires in-person work, travel in your own vehicle, and a vaccination requirement for COVID-19. A bachelor's degree in nutrition and significant leadership experience in multi-site programs are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Nutritional Sciences, Dietetics, Human Nutrition, Food Sciences or related field.
• Family and Consumer Studies with emphasis in Child Development/Food Service/Nutrition or related degree in nutrition acceptable.
• Registered/Licensed Dietitian preferred.
• Five years of experience administering or coordinating community nutrition, public health nutrition, or similar nutrition programs in a multi-site program, such as Head Start or a similar early childhood education program serving low-income families.
• Minimum of three years of experience supervising nutrition services programming and food service personnel.
• Experience with pre-school, toddler and infant nutrition preferred.
• Two years supervisory experience required.
• Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration preferred.
• Basic knowledge of nutrition, growth and development of infants, young children, and childbearing women.
• Must have knowledge of nutrition resources available in the community.
• Must have a valid driver's license, insurance and reliable transportation.
• This position may require that employee travel in his/her own vehicle.
• Certified Dietician preferred.
• This position requires in-person work and is staff and/or visitor facing; therefore, complete vaccination against Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is required.

Responsibilities

• Direct, manage, supervise, plan and coordinate nutrition and food service programs in alignment with CACFP and Head Start standards.
• Provide training to center staff and cooks on nutrition and applicable standards.
• Advise families on nutrition services and monitor program effectiveness.
• Develop and update nutrition program content, structure and delivery; analyze reports.
