Job summary

Delta Area Economic Opportunity Corporation seeks a Health/Nutrition Specialist to plan, administer, and oversee Health, Dental and Nutrition services for Head Start. You will ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, collaborate with leadership, and promote health, safety and readiness to learn across the program.

The role involves data monitoring, staff training, community collaboration and management of the USDA CACFP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in health, nutrition, social work or related field required.
• Previous experience working with children and families preferred.
• Must have a valid Missouri driver's license and access to a vehicle.
• Certified trainer in CPR and First Aid or ability to obtain after hire.

Responsibilities

• Plan, administer and oversee Health, Dental and Nutrition services per Head Start standards.
• Collaborate with leadership to ensure health, wellness and safety protocols are in place.
• Monitor health data and support universal precautions, sanitation, and best practices.
• Manage USDA CACFP and nutrition-related program activities.
• Provide professional development and training in health, nutrition and safety.
• Engage families and Community resources to support child health and readiness to learn.
