Job summary

Lutheran Services Florida seeks a Lead Teacher to guide Head Start/EHS classrooms, planning and implementing educational activities for preschoolers and infants/toddlers. You will ensure alignment with federal standards and participate in quality assurance efforts.

Requirements include an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, minimum two years’ Head Start experience, and strong parent communication skills.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience teaching Head Start, Early Head Start, preschool or kindergarten age children.
• Bilingual preferred: English/Spanish or other languages in the area.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily lesson plans and activities meeting federal standards.
• Create learning spaces with defined areas for exploration.
• Assess and document child progress and update education plans.
• Ensure safety in classrooms, meals, and play areas.
• Communicate with parents through conferences and written updates.
• Coordinate with teachers and health staff for child wellness.
