Job summary

Lutheran Services Florida seeks a Center Director to manage the day-to-day operations of a Head Start/Early Head Start center, including supervision of education staff, family communication, and compliance with federal standards. The role involves coordinating classroom activities, assessments, and accreditation readiness.

Ideal applicants will have a degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, supervisory experience, and the ability to lead diverse teams in a dynamic preschool

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in teaching pre-school or kindergarten age plus two years of supervisory experience required.
• Some experience in financial management and budgeting preferred.
• Bilingual preferred: English/Spanish or English and other languages present in the local area.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and oversees the daily activities of a Head Start/Early Head Start Center to ensure compliance with federal standards and licensing.
• Conducts classroom observations and measures staff performance using official rubrics.
• Plans, coordinates and oversees field trips and volunteer activities for parents and community volunteers.
