• Strong working knowledge of Head Start Program Performance Standards and NAEYC guidelines and regulations.
• Prefer knowledge of High Scope curriculum or other evidence-based early childhood curricula.
• Demonstrate success in working as a member of a team and in communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead team meetings to develop weekly lesson plans and activities addressing goals of children.
• Provide day-to-day supervision and support to classroom staff and volunteers.
• Ensure implementation of Head Start standards, NAEYC guidelines, and DC regulations in daily operations.
• Develop and implement the daily program of activities based on child development principles and High Scope.
• Maintain child portfolios and document progress for assessments and instructional planning.
