Drake University Head Start seeks a head start program coordinator to lead a 3- to 5-year-old classroom team, design and implement age-appropriate curricula, and ensure licensing compliance. You will coordinate with families, teachers, and nurses to support holistic child development in classroom and home-based settings.

The role emphasizes collaboration with staff, documentation of progress, and adherence to federal Head Start standards while maintaining a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Formación

• B.S. or B.A. in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education, or Early Childhood Special Education.
• One year of experience in a preschool environment.
• Ability to pass all state childcare licensing requirements.
• Ability to be insured by the University's insurance carrier.
• Preferred: Early Childhood endorsement and teaching license with special education endorsement.

Responsabilidades

• Lead children ages 3-5 and a teacher associate in daily classroom activities.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate developmentally appropriate curriculum and practice.
• Maintain children's files and progress reports in compliance with licensing.
• Support children's social-emotional development and parent communication.
• Ensure CACFP compliance and safe, organized classroom operations.
• Conduct family home visits and collaborate with staff on curriculum.
