Job summary

Easterseals Southern California is seeking an Associate Teacher to join our Early Head Start/Head Start program in California. Under limited supervision, you will plan and implement an inclusive, developmentally appropriate curriculum for young children, support primary caregiving, and maintain weekly lesson plans and records.

The role includes home visits and parent conferences, coordinating classroom activities, and working with staff and volunteers.

Qualifications

• BA/AA/HS credential in ECE or related field required.
• Must possess and maintain a Child Development Teacher Permit.
• Experience teaching in preschool/infant-toddler settings.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Knowledge of Head Start standards and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver a developmentally appropriate curriculum.
• Act as Site Supervisor as designated.
• Provide classroom instruction and supervision to children.
• Conduct home visits and parent conferences within required timelines.
• Maintain weekly lesson plans and progress notes.
• Coordinate and participate in staff meetings and trainings.
