Job summary

The College of Southern Idaho is seeking a Head Start kitchen supervisor to oversee meal preparation and service for multiple groups of children daily. Qualifications

• Experience preparing meals from scratch and using standardized recipes.
• Completion of nutrition courses.
• Current State of Idaho Food Handlers Certificate or willingness to complete before start date.
• One year supervisory experience in the food service industry.
• Eighteen years of age or older.
• Ability to operate kitchen appliances (food processor, dishwasher, can opener).
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to read and perform basic math computations.
• Current driver's license.
• Criminal background check required before hire.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the preparation and service of meals for Head Start/Early Head Start participants.
• Supervise staff and volunteers; provide guidance to area cooks.
• Maintain sanitary conditions in kitchen, storage, and dining areas.
• Record and monitor meal counts in the program's tracking system.
• Purchase food and kitchen items within Federal guidelines and budget.
