Job summary

The Child Center of NY is seeking a Cook to prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children in accordance with USDA and CACFP regulations. Under the general supervision of the program Director, you will organize kitchen operations, manage records, and ensure safety and sanitation in daily food preparation.

The ideal candidate has NY health department food protection certification, a high school diploma, and experience in child food service.

Qualifications

• Must have a NY Health Department Food Protection certification.
• Prior experience with CACFP requirements is preferred.
• Experience in child food service preparation and management.
• Knowledge of food safety, allergies, and culinary techniques.

Responsibilities

• Plans and prepares meals per CACFP regulations.
• Purchases food and supplies as needed for daily operations.
• Maintains sanitation, safety, and proper storage in the kitchen.
• Assists in menu planning and supports kitchen staff.
• Maintains inventory and cost-control records per CACFP procedures.
