Job summary

Child Development Schools is seeking a dedicated Cook to prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children, following CACFP guidelines and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen. You will track meal counts, manage inventory, and collaborate with center leadership to meet dietary needs and ensure smooth operations.

Great candidates will have a High school diploma or GED, be able to pass a background check, and hold a food handler's permit or obtain one before start.

Qualifications

• Basic food preparation and serving experience preferred.
• Familiarity with CACFP guidelines and child nutrition basics.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen and manage meal timing for multiple classrooms.
• Willingness to pass a background check and obtain a food handler's permit.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks for children according to menus and CACFP guidelines.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and storage procedures to maintain a clean kitchen.
• Accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies for enrolled children.
• Track meal counts, inventory, and orders; communicate needs to center leadership.
• Maintain kitchen equipment and report maintenance needs promptly.
• Assist with classroom activities and supervision during non-kitchen hours.
