Job summary

Gateway Community Action is seeking a part-time Head Start liaison in Mt Sterling, KY. The role focuses on engaging families, recruiting children, and coordinating monthly parent meetings with required training, while ensuring program integrity and timely reporting.

The position emphasizes transportation support, confidential record keeping, and ongoing family outreach to connect families with services and referrals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; FDC credential within 18 months of hire.
• Associate Degree or higher in Social Work preferred; case management experience beneficial.
• Valid Kentucky driver’s license with PS Endorsement within 60 days; pre-employment checks mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary link to families enrolled in the Head Start Program.
• Recruit children by canvassing community and processing applications.
• Facilitate monthly parent meetings and provide required training.
• Provide transportation for children and families for services and events.
• Maintain confidential records and report accurately.
• Assist families in goal setting and ensure ongoing contact for services.
• Substitute in classrooms as needed; monitor Head Start operations.
