Job summary

Gateway Community Action Agency seeks a part-time instructional support staff member at East Valley HS Center in West Liberty, KY 41472. The role assists teachers, supports curriculum delivery, and helps track child progress in alignment with Head Start standards.

Responsibilities include collaborating with families and community partners, maintaining a safe classroom, and supporting IFSP/IEP processes. A High School Diploma and valid driving may be required; minimum 15 hours of PD annually are

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Experience with IFSP/IEP is preferred.
• Experience assisting classroom teachers is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assists teaching staff with implementation of curricula in the classroom
• Applies knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices
• Assists with daily activities
• Assists in maintaining a system for assessing and tracking child progress
• Cooperates with parents to support home school connections
• Maintains relationships with community partners
• Maintains a safe and healthy classroom environment
• Supports IFSPs/IEPs implementation
• Adheres to Head Start standards and applicable laws
• Participates in meetings, events, and training
• Works with center staff
• Completes at least 15 hours of professional development annually
