Job summary

Save the Children in the United States is seeking a Manager of Facilities and Transportation to ensure safe, compliant facilities and vehicles for Head Start/Early Head Start programs. The role supervises maintenance, leases, and driver operations, while leading safety inspections and program improvements.

You will chair the Head Start Safety Committee, manage licenses and inspections, coordinate with site supervisors, and oversee budgeting and purchasing processes to support program needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of general building maintenance, facilities management, or transportation systems.
• Proven supervisory experience.
• CPR/First Aid certification after hire and recertification as required.
• Familiarity with OSHA/ADA regulations and DOT rules.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee testing for lead, asbestos, mold, and air quality.
• Develop systems for facility and transportation service delivery and safety.
• Maintain fire/security alarm systems and conduct health and safety inspections.
• Oversee vehicle maintenance, licensing, insurance, and driver compliance.
• Ensure licenses, contracts, and inspections are up to date; manage budgets and inventory.
