Maryland Rural Development Corporation (MRDC) invites applications for a Head Start Teacher. The role develops individual education plans and supports children’s social, intellectual, physical, and emotional growth in collaboration with MRDC staff.

Responsibilities include implementing developmentally appropriate preschool curriculum, coordinating with the Education Coordinator and ECE Specialist, and guiding daily activities and field trips while maintaining documentation and a positive

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or related field.
• Demonstrated success in accomplishing tasks as outlined above.
• Must pass criminal background check in MD and surrounding states.

Responsibilities

• Implement developmentally appropriate curriculum for preschool children.
• Refer children with special needs or challenging behavior to appropriate staff.
• Implement and monitor behavior plans and IEPs with team input.
• Guide daily activities, field trips, and classroom setup.
• Maintain portfolios with weekly observations and developmental assessments.
• Foster a positive learning atmosphere encouraging creativity and exploration.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.
• Supervise children and apply positive behavior management strategies.
• Attend training sessions and staff meetings to enhance professional skills.
