Job summary

Union County Community Action, Inc. (UCCA) is seeking a dependable Custodian to maintain Head Start buildings and grounds and provide transportation support as assigned. The starting rate is up to $15 per hour with a Monday–Friday 7:30am-4:30pm schedule (40 hours/week).

The work location is Hamlet, NC, supporting health, safety, and daily success of children, families, and staff. UCCA offers PSLF eligibility, medical/dental/vision insurance through BCBSNC, life insurance, a 401(k) plan, 12 paid

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CDL required or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test, and must submit to random drug screenings.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, and common areas.
• Assist with facility maintenance and supply organization.
• Safely transport children to and from program locations.
• Serve as a bus monitor when assigned.
• Maintain safe and sanitary environments for children and staff.
• Support program operations as needed.
