Job summary

Lutheran Services Florida in West Palm Beach is seeking a Mentor Coach to provide on-site coaching for Head Start teachers and Teacher Assistants, including classroom observations, demonstration lessons, feedback, and support to improve teacher-child interactions and school readiness.

The role requires coordinating trainings, analyzing CLASS data, developing and updating instructional procedures, and collaborating with Center Directors and supervisors to advance program quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with 18 ECE hours.
• Certificate of Completion of approved 10 hour DAP for Pre-Schoolers or Infant/Toddlers.
• Certificate of Completion of 30-hour Intro to Child Care Training or equivalent.
• Total of 30 hours including 6h Child Growth & Development; 6h Behavioral Observation & Screening; 8h Health, Safety & Nutrition; 4h Identifying & Reporting Child Abuse/Neglect; 6h Child Care Facility Rules & Regulations.
• Certificate of Completion of approved 10-hour Special Needs Course; Florida Director Credential or eligible; and valid Florida Driver License.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and documents provisions and progressions in Early Childhood Education and School Readiness.
• Provides initial and ongoing training and technical assistance to Head Start staff.
• Assist in developing and evaluating program goals and objectives.
• Monitors developmentally appropriate approaches to child development and education.
• Maintains reliability in CLASS assessment; designs assessment plans for improvement.
• Designs and implements staff trainings for ongoing improvement.
• Provides input on staff performance for evaluations and actions.
• Facilitates meetings and trainings with supervision coordination.
• Interprets and applies program policies and regulations.
• Completes monthly monitoring reports for sites and submits reports.
