Capital Area Community Services, Inc. is hiring a Part-Time Classroom Assistant for their Head Start Program. This 28-hour per week role pays $15.10 per hour with no CDA, or $15.90 per hour with a CDA, and requires Monday-Thursday work plus occasional Fridays.

The Classroom Assistant supports development in a play-based setting, assists the teacher, and participates in health and safety activities. Employment is contingent on background checks and drug screening.

Formación

• Must be able to engage in effective communication and develop safe relationships with staff members, children, and families.
• Willingness to work with multiple teams across four counties and participate in ongoing training and safety activities.

Responsabilidades

• Assist the teacher in planning and carrying out individualized instruction, guiding activities indoors and outdoors.
• Support self-help skills and reinforce learned behaviors with positive language and redirection.
• Prepare and participate in mealtime.
• Attend scheduled trainings and help maintain a clean, safe classroom.
• Assist bus driver with boarding, transitions, and monitoring behavior on the bus.
• Document incidents involving children, families, and staff and adhere to mandated reporting requirements.
