Job summary

Mt. Hood Community College’s Head Start program is hiring for multiple vacancies in East Portland, Gresham and surrounding areas. The roles support daily educational activities for Preschool and Early Head Start, including supervision and meal services in classrooms.

We seek candidates who can follow agency policies, engage with diverse families, and participate in meetings and trainings. Positions are on-site, full-time (40 hours/week) with wages of $17.70–$18.69 per hour.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and speak to fulfill duties.
• Experience working with the College’s community, students and employees.
• Preferred: experience with young children; bilingual in English and another language.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day educational program and supervision of Head Start Preschool and Early Head Start.
• Support classroom meal services and maintain materials.
• Attend staff meetings, planning meetings, team debriefings and trainings.
• Assist with safety, behavior guidance and learning routines.
• Prepare materials and contribute to daily classroom cleaning.
