Job summary

Mt. Hood Community College in Oregon is seeking a Site Lead in Head Start/Early Head Start programs to augment operational and educational capacity at designated sites.

You will coordinate staff, monitor safety and compliance with Head Start standards, and serve as the primary liaison between teachers and management when the site manager is off-site. This full-time role requires strong communication, staff scheduling, and a collaborative approach to family engagement.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with children and families in an early childhood program, including 2 years as lead teacher.
• Experience in Head Start or Early Head Start programs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily staff scheduling and classroom coverage to meet child-to-adult ratios.
• Monitor safety, procedures, and daily routines to ensure a healthy learning environment.
• Act as liaison between teachers and management when the manager is off-site.
• Ensure compliance with Head Start standards and licensing requirements.
• Support family involvement and collaborate with education and family services staff.
