Job summary

Union County Community Action, Inc. in Hamlet, NC is hiring a Classroom Aide for Head Start and Early Head Start programs. You will assist teachers, supervise children, and support family engagement as part of a collaborative education team located at the Hamlet work site.

Starting rate is $14 per hour. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:45am-2:45pm or 7:30am-3:30pm (40 hours/week). A High School Diploma or GED is required; CPR/First Aid certification is preferred or obtainable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• EDU 119 or CDA Credential preferred.
• Experience working with young children preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test, and must submit to random drug screenings.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with classroom activities and supervision
• Support children's developmental and educational needs
• Help maintain classroom records and documentation
• Assist with classroom organization and cleanliness
• Supervise children during classroom and outdoor activities
• Support family engagement and communication
