Job summary

Union County Community Action, Inc. (UCCA) is hiring a Teacher’s Aide for Head Start / Early Head Start at the Monroe location in Union County, NC. You will support teachers with classroom activities, supervise children, maintain records, and engage families as part of a collaborative education team.

The starting rate is $14 per hour with a Monday–Friday schedule (40 hours/week). Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, and CPR/First Aid certification; CDA or EDU 119 preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• EDU 119 or CDA Credential preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification required or ability to obtain.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Experience working with young children preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test; random drug screenings.

• Assist teachers with classroom activities and supervision
• Support children’s developmental and educational needs
• Help maintain classroom records and documentation
• Assist with classroom organization and cleanliness
• Supervise children during classroom and outdoor activities
