PICKAWAY COUNTY COMMUNITY ACTION ORG INC is seeking a Center Assistant to welcome families and support a Head Start center in Circleville, Ohio. The role blends front desk duties with classroom assistance to ensure a safe, engaging environment for children.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and experience in licensed childcare or Head Start. Training opportunities and a family-friendly schedule are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a Licensed Childcare or Head Start program preferred.
• Must obtain DCY Administrator Training within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Greet families, visitors, and partners as the friendly face of the center.
• Answer phones, support the front desk, and keep operations running smoothly.
• Maintain center safety by following check-in procedures and licensing requirements.
• Assist Center Coordinator with compliance efforts (Head Start, DCY, Step Up to Quality).
• Keep records organized and support licensing/monitoring needs.
• Volunteer to help classrooms when extra hands are needed.
• Create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for children and families.
• Balance office tasks with hands-on support to keep the center flowing and families engaged.
