United Community Action Partnership, Inc. is seeking a Head Start Assistant Teacher in Willmar, MN. You will work alongside the Head Start Teacher to spark curiosity, build independence, and inspire young learners while supporting parents’ advocacy for their child.

The role includes assisting with lesson planning, classroom management, health activities, and safe transportation; the position is full-time, unionized, with benefits and a 12-month schedule.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• At least 1 year of experience with children ages 3-5.
• CDA credential or Early Childhood Degree, or ability to obtain within 2 years.
• CPR and First Aid Certification, or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Assist Head Start Teacher in planning and delivering engaging classroom activities.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date record keeping.
• Incorporate health and nutrition activities to support learning.
• Step in for Head Start Teacher when needed.
• Assist with light janitorial duties to support classroom operations.
• Support recruitment and enrollment efforts for Head Start.
• Safely monitor the Head Start bus and transport children to and from the center.

JOB STATUS: Full time (36 hours/week), 12-Months Per Year, Union Position

LOCATION: Willmar, MN

Help create an amazing learning environment for young children! As a Head Start Assistant Teacher, you'll work side by side with our Head Start Teacher to spark curiosity, build independence, and inspire little learners - all while supporting parents to become their child's greatest advocate.

• Promote the Program: Support recruitment and enrollment efforts to spread the word about Head Start.
• Ensure Safety: Safely monitor the Head Start bus and transport children to and from the center.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Must be 18 years or older.
• At least one (1) year of experience working with children ages 3-5.
• A current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or Early Childhood Degree - or the ability to obtain itwithin two years.
• CPR and First Aid Certification - or ready to get certified.
