Job summary

United Community Action Partnership, Inc. in Willmar, MN, seeks a Head Start Classroom Support to assist the Head Start Teacher and help create an engaging learning environment for young children.

You will participate in kitchen tasks, organize records, lead health and nutrition activities, and back up the teacher as needed. This role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and support for families in a union-backed program.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • High school diploma/GED and/or relevant experience.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to get certified.
  • Food Safety Certification or willingness to get certified within 3 months.

Responsibilities

  • Team up in the kitchen: assist with food prep and cleanup, keeping things organized and tidy.
  • Stay organized: maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Add a healthy twist: engage in health and nutrition activities that inspire kids to choose healthier options.
  • Be the MVP: substitute for the Head Start Teacher when needed.
  • Pitch in: help with light janitorial duties as required.
  • Promote the program: support recruitment and enrollment efforts for Head Start.
  • Prioritize safety: ensure a safe environment at all times.

As a Head Start Classroom Support, you’ll work side by side with our Head Start Teacher to spark curiosity, build independence, and inspire little learners—all while supporting parents to become their child’s greatest advocate.

Education and Experience
  • Must be 18 years or older.
