Job summary

United Community Action Partnership, Inc. is seeking a Head Start Assistant Teacher in Tracy, MN. You will work closely with the Head Start Teacher to create engaging, developmental activities for 3- to 5-year-olds and support families in advocating for their children.

The role includes assisting with lesson planning, record-keeping, and health-related activities, plus stepping in for the teacher when needed. A CDA credential or Early Childhood degree is required.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience with children ages 3-5.
• CDA credential or Early Childhood Degree.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Head Start Teacher to plan engaging classroom days.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date record keeping.
• Lead health and nutrition activities in the classroom.
• Step in for Head Start Teacher when needed.
• Assist with light janitorial duties as needed.
• Support recruitment and enrollment efforts for Head Start.
• Safely transport children to and from the center using the Head Start bus.

JOB STATUS: Temporary (36 hours/week), 3-4 Month Position

LOCATION: Tracy, MN

Help create an amazing learning environment for young children! As a Head Start Assistant Teacher, you'll work side by side with our Head Start Teacher to spark curiosity, build independence, and inspire little learners - all while supporting parents to become their child's greatest advocate.

• Ensure Safety: Safely drive the Head Start bus and transport children to and from the center.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• A current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or Early Childhood Degree

CPR and First Aid Certification - or ready to get certified.
