United Community Action Partnership, Inc. in Litchfield, MN is seeking a Head Start Assistant Teacher for a full-time, 9-month union position. You will work alongside the Head Start Teacher to spark curiosity, build independence, and support families.

You will help with health activities, record-keeping, safety, and recruitment efforts, while stepping in for the teacher as needed. This role offers growth opportunities and a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• At least 1 year of experience working with children ages 3–5.
• CDA credential or Early Childhood Degree, or ability to obtain within two years.
• CPR and First Aid certification, or willing to get certified.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Head Start Teacher to plan engaging classroom days.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records to keep operations running smoothly.
• Lead health and nutrition activities to support wellbeing.
• Step in for Head Start Teacher when needed.
• Assist with light janitorial duties as part of teamwork.
• Support recruitment and enrollment efforts to spread the word about Head Start.
• Safely monitor the Head Start bus and transport children to and from the center.

JOB STATUS: Full time (36 hours/week), 9-Months Per Year, Union Position

LOCATION: Litchfield, MN

Help create an amazing learning environment for young children! As a Head Start Assistant Teacher, you'll work side by side with our Head Start Teacher to spark curiosity, build independence, and inspire little learners - all while supporting parents to become their child's greatest advocate.

• CPR and First Aid Certification - or ready to get certified.
