North Coast Opportunities, Inc. seeks a Head Start Assistant Teacher to assist in planning and implementing the Head Start curriculum. You will be responsible for the care and education of enrolled children and communication with families.

The role requires teamwork, strong English communication, and the ability to work with dual-language families. Prior ECE exposure and adherence to safety standards are essential for daily classroom activities.

Formación

• Requires knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards or state licensing is preferred.
• Must hold and maintain an appropriate US education credential (ECE permit or CDA) as required.
• Knowledge of child development, health, safety, and early childhood education concepts.
• Ability to communicate clearly with families and staff in English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Assist Lead Teacher in planning and implementing Head Start curriculum.
• Ensure health and safety of children at the site.
• Document daily activities and observations for developmental assessments.
• Engage children in learning through structured activities and play.
• Support parent volunteers and conduct home visits when needed.
• Maintain classroom materials and prepare environment for activities.
